Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Kiera's Paw Pals collects through this website, why, and what your rights are under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Kiera's Paw Pals is a dog sitting and pet care business covering Basingstoke and the surrounding area. The person responsible for your information (the “data controller”) is [Kiera’s full name / registered business name], at [contact email address]. [ICO registration number, if registration is required].

What we collect, and why

The only place this website collects personal information is the enquiry form. It asks for:

We use this only to reply to your enquiry and to take steps you’ve asked for before any booking (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and, where you tick the consent box, on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). We don’t use it for marketing and we don’t sell it. Please don’t include sensitive personal details about yourself in the free-text box.

Where your enquiry goes

When you send the form, your enquiry is emailed straight to our mailbox (woof@kieraspawpals.co.uk) through our email provider, Hostinger, which processes it on our behalf. We don’t keep your enquiry in a database on this website, and the website doesn’t store or log what you type.

Spam protection

To keep out automated spam, the form uses a hidden field, a short-lived anonymous token that proves the page was open for a few seconds, simple checks of what’s been typed, and limits on how many enquiries one connection can send. None of this uses cookies or third-party services, and your IP address is used only briefly in the server’s memory to apply those limits. It isn’t stored.

How long we keep it

[Retention period, e.g. “6 months after the last contact if no booking goes ahead”]. If you become a customer, we’ll keep the records we need to look after your dog and for our accounts.

Cookies and tracking

This website currently sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising trackers, social media embeds or third-party fonts loaded from other servers. See our cookies page.

Our hosting

The website is hosted by [hosting provider], which may keep basic server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Your rights

You have the right to:

To use any of these, contact us at [contact email address]. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
